Social Determinants
Social determinants of health is a term that represents the myriad of conditions that describe the environments in which people are born, live, work, age, etc. These conditions have a direct and measurable influence on the health, well being, and socioeconomic attainment of individuals in communities.
BHE Foundation has a vested interest in the Black community, a population disproportionately affected by poor social determinants, and aims to target health outcomes at their source. Each department of BHE Foundation serves as a pillar by which the foundation intends to address the social determinants that uniquely impact the Black community to improve health outcomes across generations and onward.
