Kayla Marshall has an overwhelming passion for serving her community and spreading light wherever she goes. She completed her undergraduate education at The Ohio State University with her Bachelor’s in Biological Sciences, pre-medical track. Her pursuit of becoming a physician was sparked at a young age where she set her sights on becoming a OBGYN in hopes to work alongside other innovative women to decrease maternal mortality for Black women. Within her first year post graduation, she has taken on volunteering in hopes to empower those that she encounters. In her role as an AmeriCorps service member and a HealthCorps Program Coordinator, Kayla holds significant responsibility to change the quality of life that her students have by facilitating activities that will improve their physical, mental, and emotional health. This passion for serving the youth has inspired Kayla to create a program that would help increase the representation of Black women within the healthcare field, thus she became a Co-Founder of the BHE Foundation Mentorship Program.
