Welcome to Policy Explained

A new Blog series focusing on Health Policy

Hello Everyone,

My name is Stephanie Ogonuwe, and I am a recent graduate from The Ohio State University. At Ohio State, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a minor in Women, Gender, and Public Policy. I want to welcome you to Policy Explainedwhere we will discuss various health policy topics and help you develop a stronger foundation to navigate all forms of policymaking. I hope this series will encourage you to advocate for issues important to you and create strategies for implementing positive changes in our community.

My interest in policy began as a first-year student in college. As I learned about our healthcare system and the health disparities existing in our communities, I developed an interest in analyzing how legislation can be used as an effective tool to address these inequities. Although I still have lots to learn, I am excited to share what I’ve gained thus far and encourage more young people to get involved in advocacy and public policy.
